Zero-emission Urban Logistics (ZES) launched in Amersfoort

Brickyard-milieuzone-rijswijk

The municipality’s main shopping district will be emission-free as of January 1, 2025.
In doing so, the municipality contributes to a more sustainable and cleaner city. Enforcement will be carried out using cameras installed by Brickyard. Official enforcement will begin in June, following a transition period to allow everyone time to adapt to the new situation.

From now on, store deliveries within this zone will be carried out using clean vehicles.
This represents a major change for local businesses. The transitional arrangement gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to apply for exemptions during a designated period.

Much of Amersfoort’s city center is already low-traffic,
and this will be expanded in 2027. This reduces noise pollution and emissions in the area. It’s not only an environmental measure, but also a way to make the city more pleasant and healthier for everyone.
