We’re on the right track: 10% less CO₂ emissions in 2024!

Good news! Together with Green Earth (part of the DGB Group), we – the Waysis companies Taxameter Centrale, Brickyard, and XPOTS – have once again mapped the CO₂ emissions of our business activities for the 2024 financial year. And what did we find? We managed to reduce our emissions by 10% compared to 2023. A result we can be proud of!

How did we achieve this?
The decrease is no coincidence. It’s the result of conscious choices and joint efforts on various fronts:
More sustainable business travel, such as increased use of electric or hybrid vehicles.
Improved energy performance in our offices, for example by reducing unnecessary energy consumption.
Smarter collaboration, making more efficient use of travel time and materials.

By working with Green Earth to measure our emissions in detail, we gain clearer insight each year into where we can truly make a difference.

What do we do about the emissions that remain?
Although we’re on the right path, some emissions still remain. And we take responsibility for those as well. For the 2024 financial year, we will compensate for more than 55% of our remaining emissions. We do this by investing in two types of projects:

Cooking Efficiency in Africa
In remote villages in Africa, cooking is often done over open fires, which consumes a lot of wood and other fuels. By financing more efficient cookstoves, we help reduce the amount of fuel needed and thus lower CO₂ emissions. This not only benefits the climate, but also boosts the local economy – as the cookstoves are produced locally – and improves the health of families who are otherwise exposed to smoke on a daily basis.

Reforestation
We support reforestation projects that plant new trees in areas where forests have disappeared. This helps store CO₂ for the long term and contributes to ecosystem restoration and biodiversity.

Why do we do this?
For us, sustainability is not an afterthought, but an integral part of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ISO 14001 policies. As companies, we want to make a positive contribution to the world around us and avoid causing more harm than necessary. Reducing our environmental impact is simply part of that.

We believe that real change doesn’t come from big words, but from concrete actions. And we commit to those actions every day – together with our colleagues, customers, and partners.

Would you like to know more about our footprint, or do you have ideas to further reduce our impact? Let us know! Sustainable business is something we do together.
