Brickyard parking systems support the most common payment options like payment with debit card (including Dip & Go and Dynamic debit card payment), credit card but also coins and bank note payments. Any combination is possible, it is up to you as an administrator to determine which options to offer.
Both the On Street parking meters and the Off Street payment terminals are suitable payments by debit card. In most cases the parker can start the payment transaction by inserting his card. The terminals accept the most use debit cards: Maestro and V PAY.
The payment terminals support debit card payment without PIN-code (Dip & Go). For amounts under 50 euros, the parker doesn’t have to enter his PIN-code. Because the PIN-code is not enterred, card skimming is impossible. This system only works for parking payment.
Still there is much demand for the ability to pay with coins. All payment terminals can be configured for coin payment. The terminals accept coins from 10 cent pieces to 2 euro pieces.
In locations like airports or other locations with many tourists, there is more demand for credit card payment. All parking terminals support credit card payments and accept the most used credit cards: Mastercard and Visa.
After (long-term) parking in a post-paid parking location such as a parking garage or parking lot, the amount to pay can become quite high. These terminals are therefore also suitable for banknote payments. They accept and can return 5, 10, 20 and 50 euro bills.
The payment terminals are prepared for contactless payment methods like Tap & Go. The Payment Card Industry (including Mastercard and VISA) and the Dutch Payment Organization have stated that by January 1st, 2020 the Tap & Go payment method is compulsory. By this date, all payment terminals with card payment must be provided with a contactless Tap & Go reader.
