As of September 2022, the time window area has been expanded, and trucks and vans may only enter this area between 5 a.m. and 12 noon, and from 2025 only vehicles without emissions of harmful gases are allowed. Enforcement of a zone the size of the city center is not feasible with manpower alone and is also too expensive. Utilizing ANPR cameras facilitates more efficient enforcement, leading to an increased probability of apprehending violators and fostering enhanced rule observance.<\/p>\n<p>Brickyard provided the complete delivery, installation, and implementation of in total 26 ANPR cameras and the Brickyard enforcement software for this assignment. The ANPR cameras automatically read all license plates and check the right to drive into the area based on linked databases. If you do not have an exemption outside the time windows, you will be fined.<\/p>\n<p>Blokland Infra recently started installing the first masts on behalf of Brickyard and from April all ANPR cameras and enforcement software will be live.<\/p>\n<p>Privacy: the use of cameras is included in the privacy register of the municipality of Groningen and meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Cameras do not register people or make recordings of persons.
